Textiles

Linda Is drawn to natural fibers, yarn and fabric -their tactility, purity and

endless potential. She enjoys the slow meditative process of weaving,

knitting, felting and sewing. The act of transforming raw materials into a

new beautiful piece is deeply gratifying for her.

In her textile work the line between art and craft is intentionally blurred. For

example, many of her textiles could be wall pieces or rugs- objects meant

to be seen and lived with. She is also inspired by the Bauhaus movement,

especially Anni Albers whose inventive use of color and natural materials

feels as resonant today as ever.

Through her textiles and the language of warp and weft Linda challenges

the assumption that cloth is purely a domestic medium .
